    Motor oil removes wax.

I was taking my 144 mile trip home from the track last night and got motor oil all over the front, hood and windshield. Someone must have had a big oil leak. I wasn't behind anyone all that much so I have no idea who it was. The oil looked fairly fresh.

I got home and tried to clean it off the windshield with Invisible Glass. It worked but it took several cleanings. Very difficult to remove.

This morning I took it to a do it yourself car wash. I power washed it with soap but not all of the oil would come off. I used a micro fiber towel with the car wash soap and that did the trick. But when I got home I noticed the wax was gone from the areas that had oil. I use NXT wax BTW.

You are right. And I agree with what you said at the track. It's hard to wash a car here in AZ. Between bright hot sun, blowing dust and hard water you get spots all over the place. Even when I use the spot-free rinse I get spots.
