How should I clean the threads on the leather seats?

After many leather cleanings and conditionings, and 38K miles, the driver's seat threads are getting dirty.

What should I clean them with sodon't mess up the leather?

Have you tried a toothbrush, mild soap and a little water, or leather cleaner soap? I'd try that and a use a clean dry cloth to wipe up the excess.
