    Headlight lens stain removal?

Looks like a cleaning agent got on there and dried or something. Any idea how to get rid of that caca? Typical glass cleaners are ineffective.

There is a factory clearcoat on these lamps. If you sand to much you'll go right through and leave a ring. If we do a set of eyebrows and the lamp lens has chips in it, we completely strip off the old clear and start over.

Thanks guys. Ernie, think its safe to try the polish, going easy with it and see if it helps? I'm hoping this stuff is just superficial.

The only suggestion I can give you is wet sand the lamp lightly with 2000 grit paper then buff with compound. If that doesn't work your out of luck. Have to sand off the clear and redo them.

the polish will take it right off with out harming the lense..

foam applicator pad , very lil pressure working the polish in, remove and u should be set, if anything a second light applicatin, but it wont harm the lense, ive used the plastic polish with a orbital buffer on my lense and i didnt harm the lense, and i was putting decent pressuse on the lense too..

    Thank You Haz

Yes the lens is acrylic but its protected by clear. If you use this kit and sand through the clearcoat you will leave rings in the sand through areas. You will not be able to fix that by just respraying with a clearcoat. Believe me I have learned the hard way.

They have plastic headlight lens cleaners at all auto stores designed to remove cloudiness, stains, scratches... one bottle and a fine cloth should do it.
