    Cool Exterior Polishing

This may not be the right Forum...But...
We LX Owners love to have our cars " Shining like A Diamond" , and
keeping the exterior glossy is the hardest part. I have been reading on
Polishing equipment, and - in MY opinion- think that the Porter Cable
7424 is the machine to use. That being said, I looked high & Low for a
good price for the Polisher w/ Pads, etc.
Prices for the COMPLETE Outfit vary from $270.00

Porter Cable 7424 XL Pad Kit with FREE BONUS
to a price of $130.00 for a BASIC Kit.
Porter Cable 7424 Car Buffer, 7424 Polisher.
My Point is: There has to be , within our 11,336 Member Forum,
someone who has a contact, knows somebody, has the inside track,
has somebody that owes them a favor, or whatever to get US a DECENT,
Affordable Price for this Item. I know there has to be ONE of you out there
that can do this, for US , and NOT try to make a HUGE profit off an item
that WE all need. Somebody could make a GREAT deal of MONEY, think
of the Sales that you could make, Think of the Status/Reputation you
would have...Plus the gigantic favor you would be doing your fellow
members. If it sounds as if I am asking for somebody NOT to make a
profit off sales, I'm not..I'm just asking for SOMEBODY to give us a
"Flat Bottom of the Barrel" price that WE can ALL afford.
If I am speaking out of turn on this, I truly apologize. Any actions will
not be construed as personal; Administrators have the authority to remove
this thread completely, or move it to the proper thread as they see fit.
I am just asking for the proverable "GOOD DEAL".
Thanks for taking the time to hear me out.. Hopefully Someone will
    answer this call.
    Respectfully Submitted,
    Stan

Some folks have been lucky enough to find them cheap on clearance at Home Depot or Lowes, but I'm not sure if there are any sweet deals like that around any more.

I bought mine reconditioned from here for $109. The link is to a 7224 though I bought a 7336 thru them for that price a few months ago. Some might not want to buy reconditioned, but it's not even remotely an issue to me with someone like PC. The one I got doesn't have a mark on it and should last me a lifetime.

I went to autodetailingsolutions to get all the pads and chemicals.

I can get these where I work and my cost without shipping and just the tool itself no free accessories, is $140.00. So the price on that website is a really good deal in my opinion. Tool mark-up isn't a whole lot, compared to somethings. You can check out our online store at www.malcomlumber.com from there you can jump to our online store just click the shop online button. we don't list this polisher, but i can order direct from porter cable. Also if you see anything else you may need, be sure to check us out we have over 70,000 items on there.
The mod List is getting to the point that its just to long to post. So if you wanna know whats in it, just ask?

best price I found for a 7424 was $113 shipped. Mind you that doent have any polishes or pads but with the low cost I bought those separately. PM me if you have any questions.

I bought a refurbed Dewalt DW443. I think was around $80-90 from Tool King.
I have read it is a bit heavier than the PC. I really like it.
A pic of it reflected in the Magnum:

The Meg's pads fit great with the velcro backing plate that came with it.

DA(Dual Action), Random Orbital is the way to go (that is the kind we are discussing)
That just means they don't rotate in a constant circle. (help me out with the explanation guys)
While you have to be careful with all you are much less likely to do any damage with these.
This might be more reading than you want but this is a great forum to ask and read.
