damn birds! A tale of warning

well it was another day of washing the charger and admiring the deep midnight blue pearl paint. A flock of birds had decided to take a break in the tree above my car! First the acorns were a concern but since I dont own a garage...oh well. Then the poo started falling from the sky! Ugh and I had just finsihed detailing the car! No biggie...just spray a little detail spray and wipe off. WRONG!!!!! Do not do this! I now have a sratch going across my hood! Seems there was a small stone or something in the poo...

THe sratch wasnt removed using XMT 1 swirl remover but was greatly deminished. I am going to have to wait till the spring to correct his problem. SO if you have bird poo on your car...wash it off with a water hose!

birds love cars that shine . . .

I could wash my car away from trees, poles, wires, out in a clearing, and they'll come by right after I'm done to add their "details" to the car.

Bird droppings are a disaster for car paint. Highly acidic and contaminated with whatever the damn bird has been eating. They love berries and you know how those little "pips" get stuck between your teeth? I dare say that was what did the damage for you.

Good advice you give, to use plenty of water and tackle the removal with care.

Hi guys In an earlier post, I had a problem with pidgeon poo. RobAGD recommended I try Meguiars SCRATCH X. It helped a lot. Also suggested was to try toothpaste. Just my 2 cents (1 1/2 cents Canadian) lol Good luck with it!

Birds also have to swallow stones for their gizzard (bird stomach). The stones aid in digestion by grinding up the food they eat. Sometimes they pass a stone. This could also be the culprit in the poo.

Forget the bird droppings. Ask VanillaRT what keeps happening with birds and his car...

I have worked at the same place for 19 years and never had bird poo on any past vehicles. In 4 months with the Magnum, the little bombers have hit me twice plus I have been hit three other times at other places. My wife says the Magnum must be a poo magnet?

Todd try scratchX you will be surprised how well it will work.

Get a foam applicator pad and working it in hard, you shoudl break a sweat and you may have to do it a few time.
