    HIDS question

    anyone here got hids installed? mines was working fine til it started flickering. i got a relay connected and yet it still flickers. i read it has to do with a low current 12v signal the vehicle sends to the bulbs. i also read to eliminate the problem i would have to connect some caps and diodes on the relay but i am no electronics expert to do it. anyone here got this problem? any suggestions on what to do? any electrical shops here to recommend?

    The signal coming from your car is likely a pulsing 12V.. does the relay click alot when starting? if you put a capacitor across the coil of the relay (470uF) you should be able to filter the signal coming out so it's +12V or 0V steady. I have done this and it's a night and day difference.. when they come on they come on immediately. no flicker at all. this is better for the bulbs too.. if you flash them too much like you are doing, they will die prematurely..

    Thanks for the info. got pics on where exactly to put the cap in the relay? i have done a search and am still lost.

    i got my HID's from factor 1 garage (supporting vendor) and no probs at all.

    Pure Performance has a schematic of how to wire the capacitor. They are located on Queen street in front of Lex Brodies.
