got a default judgement in the mail from the waihiwa court stating that I was parked there at 2am back in may.... the kicker is this... the street name for my mailing address is wrong, I was in seattle during the infraction, and the license plate is to a vehicle I don't even own...

    this is total

    What the crap!!!!!!!!!!!!

    any thoughts????

Sounds like you need to show up in court and present the facts! Unfortunate but **** happens. Even on the mainland.

I used to get a lot of bench warrants from some jerk that used my name and birth date to get out of tickets. It was a pain, one day a nice officer that had just pulled me over to inform me I had a nail in my tire noticed some fool up the street doing burn outs. When the officer stopped him, he gave the nice officer his standard line, I don't have my license on me but I'm....... yep gave the officer my name. That was the end of that.

    all the best,
    now drive on
    full

I'm just hoping it's not a csae of identity theft... if it's the truck that I sold to the dealer when I bought the magnum and the dealer screwed up the paperwork and they left the truck registered under my name... oh man it's on!!!

so I had a friend of mine from HPD run the plate... come to find out... the plate belongs to the truck I traded in for the Magnum back in January of 2006. Th truck is still registyered in my name that I traded in to the dealer over a year ago and some ass wipe is racking up traffic violations in my name. So I called the court house and explained the situation. The court told me I have to go to Wahiawa and pay the bond and then come to court to prove that I didn't own the car. It's not my ride!!!!!

I am currently checking with an attorney to see if I have any rights against the dealership

Ow. Sorry man. I would say it was a dealer fudge up until you got to the part where he was racking up tickets. That raises a honking red flag.
Come to think of it... Wasn't there another thread about a dealership somewhere getting shut down for some form of identity theft?
Sorry, chock full of brain farts and search impaired tonight.
If memory serves, it didn't directly affect a member here, so asking him for advice wouldn't be of any help anyway.

That is ridiculous. I hope your attorney helps you straighten everything out. It sounds like the dealership is involved in some kind of scam!

    1 guess.. CUTTER

they take 3-15 months to complete new registrations. Even on used buys. Temporary ones you get when you buy a car last 30 days (the limit they have to complete it).
