    TPMS with aftermarket wheels

So it is now racing season in the northeast and I throw on my Viper reps with DR's and now the TPMS light stays on. I am guessing it is a reprogramming issue but before I go digging, just curious if anyone else has issues. They were fine at the end of last season on my Charger SRT8.

Are they on a different vehicle now? Not all TPMS are the same.

I have them mounted on a 2012 300 SRT8 now. All 4 wheels are showing no communication. Sensors were only 2 years old.

TPMS are frequency programmed and specific to the vehicle year usually. If you moved them from another vehicle (different year) then chances are they will not work.

do you know if the frequency changed from the 08 SRT's to the 12 SRT's? If I have to change them out, so be it...or I will just continue to black out the TPMS light till I change tires. This is what I get for getting a new model before everything is known.

Im sure they are different being that far apart. Usually rule of thumb is to get new ones every time you get new wheels and or tires as well because they are usually damaged when removed, or the 0-ring is cut.

Yes they changed - at least in the Challengers they did.
