Don't believe everything in car mags. It's a lot of speculation. The same article also said we would see the concept version of the 300 at the Detroit Auto Show.

What are they doing to the engine to make it put out 400hp? I thought the new Eagle engine only put out around 375hp and that was the latest change.

with all the pressure from the government I wouldn't be surprised. It's really weird that the media and the administration love to talk crap about the so called gas guzzling American cars (uhhhhh? i average 20 mpg) and the companies who make them, but I see no one giving Mercedes crap about their AMG class, or BMW about the M series. Wouldn't surprise me if the SRT8 took a hiatus. Pretty standard procedure when updating a model. The M3 and CTS-V were absent for a year during recent reboots.

Current plan is to skip model year 2011 for the SRT versions of the 300 and Charger, then returning for the 2012 model year. Challenger SRT will not skip a year.

But with the government currently "running" both GM and Chrysler and the Proposed New Federal CAFE and Emissions Standards. I think we are looking at the 1970's all over again.

According to Joe Dehner VP Design for Chrylser it will be back with a 6.4L. I was told that at the Fourth Annual Spring Festival last week by him. The release would be approximately 6 month after the next gen. 300 is released.
