Dodge Avenger to Go Rear Wheel Drive

    According to Leftlane news:

"Rumors surfaced last month that Chrysler was considering moving its mid-size offerings - the Dodge Avenger and Chrysler Sebring - to a single rear-wheel drive platform, but a new direction is said to be gaining traction in Auburn Hills. In order to better differentiate the two mid-size sedans, Chrysler is mulling moving the Avenger to the Challenger's rear-wheel drive platform while leaving Sebring as a front driver."

    RWD Avenger

Unless they lighten up the car (and carry that Technology to the LX/LY cars) they are in trouble.

the 200c concept was a step in the right direction (even without the hybrid tech)

Especially in fixing the visual disaster known as the Sebring.

A midsize RWD lineup would be great and hopefully it won't be just the Avenger. This would be a nice way to differentiate Chry. Co. from the other American manufacturers. Lightening the platform and the use of the new Phoenix V6s (or Pentastar, whatever the name is now) could provide some pretty cool performance.

It would be great to see them go rear drive. The 200c was a sharp looking car. Better than the pics of the next Gen 300 IMO. That's kind of a watered down 300.

A 200c & Avenger SRT8 would be to good to be true.

I'd prefer to leave the SRT-8 moniker with the 300/Charger/Challenger/Grand Cherokee (and departed Magnum).

This would be a great opportunity to reintroduce the SRT-6 model with an Avenger, especially after the Crossfire fiasco.
