2011 Chrysler 300 interior shot

During the Jeep Grand Cherokee press conference this morning, Chrysler vice chairman Jim Press gave the assembled journalists a sneak peak at the interior of the forthcoming Chrysler 300. While little more than a quick glimpse at of the instrument panel flashed up on the screen for a moment, we were able to grab this snapshot for you. We're sorry that the resolution is not as crisp as we'd like it to be, but until Auburn Hills slips us a high-res jpeg, we figure you'd still enjoy an advanced look.

What it shows is an all-new instrument panel of what looks to be a higher-end model (note the abundance of woodgrain trim and leather surfaces), with the centerpiece being a new widescreen navigation system housed in an oval-shaped enclosure flanked by curved air vents. As expected, there is a wood and chrome-ringed steering wheel, switchgear in the standard places (including dual-zone climate control), a gated console shifter, and what looks to be a very large center console.

It looks okay with me. I wouldn't go for such bright red wood, but maybe that's my computer.

the oval radio bezel with a chrome ring and the chrome ringed vents are hidious.

also dont like how the dash looks flat to the people sitting in the seats. not a smooth curve from the center bezel to where the top of the dash meets the windshield.

ill have to see it in person once its released to really decide if it looks good or not tho

umm... why is every platform being revealed or at least a glimpse being provided except the Charger? Why are they making the new charger this big secret?? (yes, I've seen that fuzzy side pic)

Not too bad but not digging that center oval look, reminds me of a Ford. Also the pic was taken at a weird angle, so it looks like it's leaned out some but it might not be. Optical illusion.

I never could figure why the truck division and the car divisions never share ideas. The 09 Ram trucks have gorgeous dashes with hand stitched leather, at least the Laramie. The wood looks nice however and I hope they use real wood. Also to me, the gauges are out of place. The original 05-09 300 gauges are pretty classy looking. It does look a lot like a Mercedes, however.

I was kinda mad when Dodge changed the interior in 08, but now looking back, most new cars have that rounded dash look and the 06-07 square looking dash is starting to seem pretty unique, plus it looks a hell of alot more muscle than that interior.

The flat front/short dash top totally scream Town Car. The interior has some good points though and I'll be interested to see it in real life.

edit:
The full wood wrap around the steering wheel is overkill. If it has a rim-blow horn it might as well be the same one that my 73 Lincoln Mark IV has!
