These interviews are not paid for and are words directly from the customer. We welcome you to interact with us and our customer through this new window with a view. Power Ported Performance always has and always will take ultimate pride in being a top notch performance provider in the industry and with that being said... our inagural feature starts off with LX Forum user "wknight". We look forward to interacting with you through this new platform through your questions and comments. Enjoy...
Meet Power Ported Customer "wknight" from Elizabethtown, KY.
Greg tells us his passion for cars started when he was a teenager. “My first car was a 66’ Mustang GT which I loved. Once I got married and started a family, I didn’t have much time or money to continue working or playing with cars. My passion for fast cars has always been with me. I have been working at Fort Knox for 33 years my kids are grown and I am enjoying the grandkids now. I decided to get a car I could enjoy. I wanted something with plenty of power, a nice ride, and good looks. I didn’t want a Mustang or a Camaro because it seems like everybody has one. I looked into the Chrysler 300 SRT8 and after doing a lot of research, I found that there were a lot of modifications that could be done with the Hemi, so I made my decision and bought my SRT8. I love it.”
He also loves paintball and participating in paintball tournaments from time to time and it goes without saying that he loves cars. His current passion is his 2007 300c SRT-8, which currently has it's stock engine. Greg has added a few things though, like a 90mm throttle body, an Inertia SRTMAX Cam, and a nitrous kit that started out with a75 shot and now is at a 150 shot.
We asked Greg what his performance goals are for his SRT-8... “My performance goals for my 300 have changed a little since having had the Nitrous kit. I have decided I would like to ultimately have my 300 being naturally aspirated. My horsepower goal is for it to be around 500 HP and pull times around 11.5 - 12.0 in the ¼ mile.”
Greg also let us know what he was looking for in a performance parts provider. “I have to be honest, I did myhomework once I decided I wanted to do some major modifications to my 300. First and foremost, I wanted to find someone that knew what they were talking about. Not just selling parts. I wanted to go with a company that had a good reputation and that had been in business for more than just a couple of years. I took my time spending about 8-9 months looking and researching on the Forums. I eventually found Power Ported Performance on LX and did my own backgroundcheck. Of all the companies I looked at, I found them to have little to no complaints and that impressed me. I could also see that their customers all spoke of the excellent communication and after hours service that they received before, during, and after their build. I was impressed so I gave them a call.”
In describing his car for daily versus other uses, here is what Greg had to say. “Well, I call this my "Mid-Life Crisis” car as funny as that may sound, it’s true. I work a lot ofhours so it is definitely a weekend car. Once Power Ported Performance has provided me with all these awesome parts, I plan on hitting the track this summer with friends.(Beach Bend) ,doing some cars shows, and hit a lot of meet & greets as well.”
After spending a little time getting to know Greg and what he wanted to achieve, this is how he describes his decision, “I ordered a Power Ported Performance 426 Stroker 6.1 Shortblock, after all, why settle for less. I also combined that powerhouse with a set of PPP 6.1 Stage 2 CNC Cylinder Heads, ported intake, upgraded Injectors, a custom PPP camshaft and a 3200 stall converter.”
Here is what Greg wants to share with others on the verge of their buying decisions, “When I first made the initial call to Power Ported Performance, I was greeted by Julian, who told me he had just come aboard with the company. After I told him what I was looking to do, he asked me some initial questions about my vehicle and he transferred me to Jeremy. I had already heard a lot of great things being said about Jeremy on these forums and it didn’t take very long on the phone to see why. His knowledge and easy going, no pressure approach, is something that is hard to find these days, especially when someone like me, who had so many questions, wanted someone who would take their time. I would recommend Power Ported Performance because Julian and Jeremy are just like me. They are passionate about their cars and they truly care about providing the best advice and options, even if that means telling a customer not to waste their hard earned money on something that won’t show any results. Power Ported Performance will take their time, give you free advice, and provide you with the most for your hard earned money. I would recommend them to anyone out there looking to increase the performance of their vehicle.”
We are excited about Greg's build and looking forward to delivering his Power Ported Performance parts. Stay tuned for his "after the build" interview comming soon. In the meantime, feel free to call us to talk about your performance goals today @ 859-363-9272
