All,

On May 13th, the Texas Motor Speedway hosted a charity event for the Speedway Children's Charities called Laps for Charity. During the event, people were allowed to take 3 laps in their personal cars around TMS for a donation of $25. Also, they could have a picture taken in Victory Lane for an additional $10. Groups of 12-16 cars were let out on the track at a time, and car clubs could arrange it so that only their club was out on the track together. There were other rules and regulations for participation, but I haven't seen all of them.

I was wondering if anyone would be interested in attending something like this at Richmond International Raceway in Richmond, VA, in conjunction with a large GTG/car show for all makes and models.

The event would be a charity event to raise money for a local charity(ies), such as the Virginia Chapter of the Speedway Children's Charities (which is an official NASCAR charity).

If there is enough interest, something may be able to be put together. If there's not enough interest, then we'll let the idea die.

Thanks for voting.
