Triangle Mopars (NC) - Sept 20 M&G and BBQ - Jordan Lake

Triangle Mopars monthly Meet and Greet will be at the Parker's Creek campground area of Jordan Lake on Sept. 20th from 10am to 2pm.

Families are welcome; I'll be bringing my wife and kids. We've rented a picnic shelter. We'll be cooking lunch on the grill, and I'd like everyone to bring a side dish or soft drinks (let us know what you're bringing).

As I mentioned at the last meeting, there is a cost associated with this. It will be $5 per car to help reimburse the cost of the shelter. Also, we'll be buying hamburgers and hot dogs, so we'll need to collect a few dollars for that once we see how many people are coming. Finally, the park charges a $5 per car admission fee.

I hope the costs don't turn people off, but if people don't show, I'm going to get stuck with the bill. So I hope to see everyone there! Please vote in the poll on the Triangle Mopars Yahoo group so we know you're coming!

Parker's Creek: The Children’s Nature Trail is an easy half-mile hike. This loop trail begins at Picnic Shelter #3. Hikers will enjoy a long boardwalk and an old farm pond. This is the best trail for spotting old tobacco rows, the last clues of the farm fields of the past. Spring hikers may notice Jack-in-the-Pulpit flowering along the trail.

The Connector Trail is 1.5 miles in length and connects each camping loop to the swimming beach. Hikers can see signs of old home sites, including rock foundations, farm fencing and ornamental plants.

Wife and I plan on coming, (2 Chargers) Maybe a kid or 2. I am really not sure about them, teenagers can't seem to make up minds very well.

We have added a "few" mods to the Chargers too. <grin>
