    Job oppertunity in Charlotte, NC

    I was called by a head hunter this morning for a position as a structural
    designer at a company in Charlotte, NC.

    Can anyone from that area tell me what it is like there? Schools, crime rates, cost of living, weather, hospitals.....that sort of thing.

    What are good neighborhoods around Charlotte? What ones should I avoid?

    It's got a couple of race tracks in the area, and it's like any other city, check out http://www.mondotimes.com/1/world/us/33/1541 and watch where the crimes are. Google has a lot more choices too...

    Charlotte's a great city. Great for rasing a family. Traffic flows fairly well. Crime isn't that bad unless you live on the WEST SIDE!!! LOL. The best area to move to IMO is the University area (Tha's where I live) or the South Side (Ballentyne area...MyRT lives near there.) If you have anymore questions PM me and I'll give you my #.

    Cool! I spoke with my wife about it last night. She said she would move there.

    I'm going to wait until the headhunter calls back on monday. Then I will see what they have to offer.

    Wonderful area....where you would want to consider living really depends on where in the Charlotte area the job is...

    I have a lot of friends in our Charlotte office and they really like it there. Note that you can live in South Carolina or North Carolina depending on what side of the city you are on. Charlotte is the largest and most say the best city in NC, even though Raleigh is the capitol. I used to live north of Raleigh, and I liked NC overall.

    Lots of things going on around Charlotte, sports, races, lakes, close to the mountains, couple hrs from Raleigh and 5 hrs from the Coast where I live. I think you might like what you see there. Really fast growing area.
