    Unhappy Disappointed in Hampton Roads!!

You know, with the amount of friendliness on this forum, my wife and I sure are disappointed in the LACK of friendliness among LX owners in the Hampton Roads, VA area. Anytime we see an LX, be it a Magnum, 300C, or Charger we wave or give a thumbs up or say Hi- and 99.9% of the time are answered with a blank stare or no response at all.

Yesterday my wife pulled into a gas station and was at a pump right next to a black 300C. She said "Hi" to the owner and he didn't even respond- just finished pumping his gas, got in his car, and left.

I used to think Hampton Roads was one of the friendliest places I've lived, but I'm now changing my mind. Are we just running into the wrong people?

Just needed to get that off my chest.

    Thanks!

I used to live in Hampton.. I have found that the people there generally don't care much about the heritage of the cars they drive. Most don't know that the cars are even related. Up here in MD though, everytime I see another LX I get waves or a friendly Hi.

Most people don't even know these cars are related and come down the same assembly line. And many people are too busy being concerned about themselves to realize that is not what is important.

Well Charged_up, you can bet if you are ever in the Hampton Roads area again and see a Black Charger R/T with plates that say HEMI-YEP- you will certainly get a friendly gesture in return whether it is I or my wife driving!- (or if we happen to be heading through MD on our way to Philly).

You must be running into the same people that I do, tridom. I rarely get a "wave back." I can only think of 1 guy who has acknowledged me when I waved. Everyone else either doesn't even look at me, or they look at me like I'm some kind of idiot for waving. I've come to a differ conclusion than you...the people here are not the friendly type at all. Back home (in West Texas), people wave to everyone that they pass on the road. I really miss the small town atmosphere.

By the way, where in Hampton are you located? I'm over by Langley.

I live in Gloucester County, but I work at Langley.

My wife works at Serenity House Substance Abuse Recovery Program in Newport News (Warwick and Denbigh). She drives the Charger most often. I'm relegated to the Ford Explorer (my plate says TRSHDM- stands for Trish and Dom).

If you run into us- we will certainly give a "wave back"!! Pretty soon you'll be able to recognize the Charger 'cause its black and will have plates that say "HEMI-YEP". We're waiting for the plates to come in.

I'm beginning to agree with you that people just aren't that friendly around here. I could swear that it didn't used to be that way when I moved here about 12 years ago. Oh well.

BTW- going to opening day at Langley Speedway next weekend (8 April)? Wife is dying to go so I guess I gotta take her.

Gloucester, huh? My in-laws live up on Powhatan Drive. When my wife and I met, she was living with her parents and I was in Suffolk. Talk about a drive...

We're just off of Semple Farm Road, between Magruder and Big Bethel, in Barker Farms.

We'll most likely try to get out to Langley's opening day as well...so maybe we'll see ya there. We'll either be in the Charger (black, N8V TXN plates) or in the wife's mountaineer (which is in the process of being replaced by a 2007 Jeep Commander Limited 4x4 w/ da HEMI). We're huge race fans and try to go as often as possible. Our daughter loves it too. We also have season tickets to Richmond.

We'll be lookin' for ya on the road!

I know where Barker Farms is.

My wife is a race fan. I didn't used to be, but she said we're GONNA start going to the races, so I guess the boss has spoken. (LOL)

Cool. We'll be driving the Charger to the Speedway. Its got black with blue temp plates right now. Hope to see ya there and will be watching for ya on the road!

LOL@tridom. I feel you pain. Everytime I try and wave at someone or honk, flash lights or something, all I get is the blank look or they turn the other way. I have posted about this in the past. Someone suggested that we come up with magnum wave or LX gesture like the chebby corvette guys have.

BTW - Tridom, your wife most likely knows my mother. She does a lot of work up at Serenity. She works for Healthcare for the Homless and PICH (Peninsula Institute for Community Health) as a case manager. She doesnt have an LX but she does drive an Intrepid. So i guess its still MOPAR or nocar. lol....

    Agreed.

Trish may possibly know your mother, although she doesn't work that side of the house. She works in accounting.

We'll be watchin' for that wave!

Midnite Blue Mag SXT, 15% tint all around, with a flowmaster 40 series. 1 oval tip out the back. You might not recognize me at first, but you'll damn sure hear me coming.
I'll be looking for that purdy LX around the way!!

How 'bout a regular wave for LXers and a "middle finger wave" for everyone else?

    Tridom:
Dont let it get ya down, friend. The same thing happens here in Nashville alll the time. I saw a CHarger SRT8 yesterday in traffic and gave up the 'shaka', he smiled and waved back. First to do so in a looooong time.
