Now looking back on the first pic you posted I have a totally different part. I think mines for a Charger. The tabs are bigger on mine and dont downsize as you see in yours.

Is that the right part? I tried every which way but loose and it was either too short on one end and too long on the other.

Yes, you have the wrong part. The vent pod you have is for a Charger. The correct vent pod for the Challenger is a part# 65-10.
Give me a call at the shop and I'll get the right one to you.

It's very easy. It simply pops out and you replace it with the new vent pod. Be carful not to break any plastic tabs.

I'm not 100% sure because I haven't seen anyone try it. I don't have a car here at the shop that has a vent pod to test. I would have to say no because it will probably hit the door.

I purchased one awhile back from HHP.....i have an 09 charger srt8. Needed an inexpesive place to put an A/F gauge...it works but unfortunately its not a perfect fit out of the box...alittle bit of trimming will have to be done to get it to fit perfectly...i have mine mounted in the driverside/near door vent....at the time i was pressed for time and didnt want to pay 70+ dollars for a gauge mount solution that would definitely woul dhave looked better but all in all it works...no problems whatsoever....

Whoever is making these could probably sell a thousand of them for the earlier LX's. They ought to look into making them !!!

ATI (Auto Tech Interiors) have the single gauge pod which is a perfect fit for those who need to mount a single gauge. Works great and very easy install. Give us a call and order yourself one today! 504-712-5512
