    EVIC Flash

    Adam,

I've read that the new 2007 Daytona's (Sublime) have the latest EVIC flash that includes the recorded 0-60mph time (same as the superbees)

Would you be able to find out if I can get my 06 Daytona flashed with that. I'd love to be able to find out what my 0-60 times are.... and then try to beat them... again....and again...and again!

    Thanks
    Scott

It's my understanding that part the way through the '06 model year, they changed the cluster. If you don't have the cruise indicator in your cluster, I'd say you're SOL. If you do, perhaps there's a chance...

    Hey Jaak,

Seeing as I've never used the cruise, I can't say whether or not I have the indicator. The only reason I'm asking is because I went through a post on the Chargerforums where a fellow with a Go Mango Daytona took in a TSB for a hard 1 - 2 shift and had his TCM flashed with the update. The only thing is that the TSB was for SRT models only, but he managed to talk them into it.

He says that he receives much crisper shifts from 1st - 2nd gears. I'm also thinking that this would have given him the 0-60 option, as he is now flashed with an SRT update. As a result, his shifts are firmer and he's able to light up the tires without holding down on the brake. Sounds like fun!

I'm more in this for the 0-60 timer, but I do find a little lag between 1st and 2nd gear, so if I could get both the EVIC update and the TCM flashed with the SRT update, it sounds like I would be a happy camper.

Adam is checking into this for me, so we'll see how it turns out!

What's the change in the cruise? My 300 is an April '06 build date, and there's no individual light for cruise, it just shows text in the EVIC screen for "CRUISE SET", etc.... is that the new one, or the old one?

The TCM flash won't give the 0-60 timer...so far there is no update for the 06 models for the timer...all the 07s with EVIC have this timer..

    Hey Guys,

I checked at lunch and when I engage cruise control in my Charger, I get some text in the EVIC screen that says cruise control on, but I also get an indicator light on the dash (next to the one for fog lights) when I turn it on, so I'm assuming that I have the most recent one.

I'll keep my eyes out for a flash that will give me the 0-60 timer, cause I'm hoping that it will be out there!

Yeah, that's what I was talking about... Hmmm didn't know about the text in the EVIC, but I have neither.

So the next question is if the flash is available...

Oh! I forgot, I have that indicator too; next to the fog lights. Looks like a speedo with the needle in the 1:00 position.

So this is a newer EVIC, the olders cars don't have that?

    Hey Colletjr,

I think this was the newest EVIC, until the 2007 Daytona's came out, as they have the 0-60 timer. I'm hoping that Adam will be able to flash mine with the 07 EVIC so that I can gain the timer. It sounds like it has been done in a couple of different ways in a few other cars (chargerforums.com) I'm thinking it may be possible, but I will wait for Adam to confirm or deny my beliefs!

Hello, I'm the new guy on the block. (Please excuse my "Newness") I am the proud owner of an 06 Magnum R/T. I really want an update for my EVIC to get the MDS status. Does anyone know how and if I could get the 08 firmware update, and if it is compatible.

guys you need to understand something:

if you have a 2005 model you can only get flashes designed for the 2005 models.

if you have a 2006 model you can only get flashes designed for the 2006 models

if you have a 2007 model you can only get flashes designed for the 2007 models.

if you have a 2008 model you can only get flashes designed for the 2008 models.

you can not put a 2007 model year flash in a 2006 model year car, it simply will not work, the hardware is different with different class IDs and serial numbers and manufacturers.. the Star Scan WILL NOT allow you to flash it..

I have tried, JonW has tried (and he is a programming/starscan god) it simply CANNOT be done..

whatever the current update revision for YOUR YEAR CAR is, is all that is available for your car.

    plain and simple.

the TCM flash for the SRT8 will work in the TCM of the SAME YEAR 5.7L because it is the SAME PART NUMBER on both cars. the only difference is the programming in the flash (5.7L vs 6.1L)

I am running 2006 model year computers in my 2004.5 300C, I had to change out the computers to get the 2006 model year programming. and I am running a TCM programmed in a SRT8 in my 5.7L and have the SRT8 shifting ability. because I changed the hardware..

if you want the 0-60 timer you have 2 choices:

buy a 2007 model year cluster and convince your dealership to install it and correct the mileage on it to match your PCM

    or buy a daskhawk...

Jeeeeezz, sorry! I've seen so many posts all over the place and I don't trust the dealer, or beleive they know enough to give me a good answer, but I get it!
The next question, what is a daskhawk? (Told you I'm new!)
