"They Were Just Jealous That My Charger Pulled More Kitties Than A Bowl Of Milk"
sig by ElCobra44 The General Sherman / 2006 Charger R/T, Bright Silver
Poor Man's mods:
Auto Headlights/Hood Struts/Visor Stickers/Lock Pin O-rings/Blinker Mod/RD Hardwire/Cabin Air Filter/Storage Compartment
Blue Calipers/Honeycomb Grill w/R/T badge/Belly Pan Mod/GTS rain guards/aFe drop-in air filter/Gorilla Lug Nuts/Rear Blinker Mod
Backup Camera/Fumoto valve/SilverStar fogs/'12 Challenger rims/REF radio "downgrade" for AUX
The 300C offered Auto headlights as an option. The '05 Mag did not. The only way to get them on the Mag is to mod your switch or replace it. Since auto-headlights were not offered as an option on 05 Mags the EVIC has no settings related to anything that uses auto-headlights.
All my posts are made from 100% recycled electrons!
Well, the Mayans and other Soothsayers were right, the end has begun.
Common sense is so rare it should be considered a superpower
Same here. Within an hour of purchase of my '05 C I'd enabled virtually every optional behavior available except for one or two I chose to forego.
EVIC options themselves, not their responses of course, are what they are, BB. If they can be changed at all it would only be via a major CCN version change via a flash (from the starscan), not via manipulation of any starscan menu item.
MagnumFreak - And/or anyone else who may know. Ah, yes, funky: In rummaging through the starscan's menus I've on several occasions run across the command, used when installing a new cam, that tells the ECM to clear its memory of the old cam's characteristics and prepare to learn the new cam, and made a mental note of how useful that would be at next cam change. Doing so will likely greatly shorten the initial period of crappy running from 10 or 15 minutes down to little to none.
In looking for that earlier this week I was unable to find it, and I'll need it tomorrow.
Anyone able to get me into the correct menu page to erase all cam adaptive learning and accelerate the new learning?
Actually, as long as you have dual-climate control (and therefore the required auto-headlight sensor capability) once you converted your Light Switch to having access to the auto-headlight position your mod was done. There was nothing to enable after that. Just turn the switch to Auto setting and it works.
I have the latest EVIC version there is for the 05 Mag, version 3.61 ... it did not add any new functionality. I'm not going to say "impossible" but I have not heard of anyone forcing EVIC functions from a different instrument cluster into their car. Probably can't be done.
If I understand this correctly, the '05 300 has a different cluster than the '05 Magnum. Given that fact, the 300 has different options that will never be available with the Magnum cluster. Does all this look correct?
True of '05s, 'zilla, but not for '06 and newer. All LX vehicles now possess the potential for auto headlights.
All that's needed is a new switch, or the modification of the existing switch, in order to be able to point the selector knob to the Automatic position and auto headlights will work.
That jibes with my understanding, BB.
An intentional under-featuring, similar to not providing lamps in the glove boxes, though the harness is there, or the omission of under-door courtesy lighting.
The flash is the same, so it could be options that are enabled by recognition of what vehicle it is. I've wondered if I programmed a 300 SRT VIN in to my car what it would do. Besides complain about the lack of HIDs and Rain Sensor (Have to put that thing in dammit!).

I don't know the exact date, but IIRC it was maybe 2 years or so ago. They can ticket you if you have your wipers on without your headlights on when raining. Not saying they will ticket you, but they could. I used to drive a pickup that had the DRL's and never worried about it, but now I even wear the seatbelts too...LOL

Thanks for the heads up Meister...I gotta remember the '06 and up stuff is more advanced and better integrated across models than the '05 "experimentals".
