I wonder why Chrysler decided to go with the 3.5L V6 instead of the 4.0L V6 on the 2009 MY? The 5.7L V8 on the R/T version is beefed up so you would think they would want to raise the bar on the V6 as well.
once a ho always a ho!!
You have a point. Probably another cost-saving move.....

yeah i bet its all in the cost
what cars are in the MY platform?
Cost and or available capacity
how much horsepower would the 4.0 produce? I always wondered why they did'nt put the 3.5 in the new avenger, you figure that car would really move with 250 horses.

Currently: "Vanessa" 2006 Charger R/T with all kinds of little details and a unique red bee stripe... just passed 100k milestone!!!
I see that the Camaro may be getting a turbo four. The 280hp (originally promised as 300hp) Caliber SRT engine would be kind of cool in there with a manual trans.

The Nitro was rear wheel drive and had a 4.0 I did some PMing with a couple of guys about this several months ago but dropped it.

The transmission may be the issue. The LX trannies may not mate to a 4.0L.
