    Skip Shift

Does anyone know how to disable? Will the predator chip programer do this?

Someone was selling a kit for like $20 similar to what the F-body guys have had for years.

    Ebay:
    1-4 Skip Shift remedy....

    Vendor:
    Skip-Shift Eliminator (6-speed) $18.88 at Speedlogix

I heart the search button ;-)

    Thanks

I will be buying this. Will this void the warranty. Obviously I would remove it before service.

I think it could depending on the dealer, but I don't think its that hard to replace the stock part. Its basically just there to tell the computer that its there. You don't have to splice anything, just plug it right in

This only applyies to manual transmissions challengers, under certain conditions the car will force you from first to fourth. The eliminator makes it so you are not forced into this. It is present on many Tremec transmissions like Corvettes and Vipers.

Revised, here it is... At 160° and below, between 19 and 21 MPH, and 1/4 throttle, the manual tranny electrically locks you out of any gear except fourth when you are shifting out of first. You can shift to 4th, and then to second, but that sucks. I can't get the link at BMC to work for some reason. I need this eliminator so bad. from what I have read, it just cuts the circut out that energises the resistor that enables this "skip shift" feature.

You have to be kidding me... 15 bucks to ship a little 18 dollar part????????? I have found this on the net...same part... for 16.50 and free shipping. I would like to support sponsors, but not at the risk of being taken to the cleaners... Just my 2 cents!

Yes the predator will eliminate that for you...so if you planning on getting one then there's no need to get the skip shift eliminator.
