    Reset MPG

I have tried to reset the mpg back to zero when I get gas. It will not go back to zero. I even asked the dealer and they didn't know how. If anybody knows how to do this, please let me know. Post a reply.

If you are displaying the MPG in the EVIC, you will see the word "reset" and beside it a >. That means press the > arrow button which will start the MPG calcs at 0.

Or are you wanting to reset one of trip meters?

I was trying to reset by the trip meters. But I just got in the car and I pressed the > arrow button, and nothing happened.

So apparently dealer incompetence/ignorance isn't confined to any one area of the country... Geeeez, talk about lack of knowledge of the products you are supposed to be able to maintain...

I'm also going to assume it's in the Owners Manual, before I go get mine and look.

Like Done said, use the right-arrow and within 5 seconds or so it clears.

To reset the trip meter, select the one you want (there are two) by pressing the black button that comes out of the speedometer. Then hold the button in for about 5 seconds and the trip meter will reset.

I know about the two resets, A & B. I'm trying to reset the MPG back to zero, but when I press the > button to reset; first --- appear, and the mpg starts reading backwards, and never gets to zero. Then continues forward. Maybe I'm doing something wrong, but I don't know what. HELP

Are you doing this while the car is running ?
I will check on my wife's 08 Charger R/T when she gets home. They should have the same EVIC options.

The MPG never resets to ZERO it resets to the last mpg reading and counts up and down from there. It happens really fast after reset. If you push the > button (for a few seconds) to reset once then ---- appears then ALL appears, if you push it > again it resets all the stored to date info back to ZERO except the MPG it always goes back to the last reading and counts from there. Thats how things work in my 2008 MSRT8.

Here's how it looks on my 2005 Magnum RT's EVIC display.

I selected the MPG display and pressed the '>' button on the wheel for like 2 seconds. If I'd done it again when the 'reset ALL' showed up it will clear BOTH your trip odometers, not sure what else it clears.

So what the common factor here?

Do you both have predators? (I don't)

That's some pretty screwy symptoms y'all have there...

    Mike

edit: BigSnake - do both your LX's do this?

Mike, here's the deal. I had them both side by side and the 06 300C would go flat line when you hold the button down for about 5-8 seconds, so it went back to zero. The 08 Charger R/T went back to the same number mpg after holding the button, so They are different undoubtedly ! Both have Predator but I don't think it matters. Just 2 different systems.
