    R/T & SRT8 - Same 6-speed Manuals? Problems?

    Hey Guys -

    Do the R/Ts and SRT8s have the manual transmissions and if so does anyone know if any issues with the R/Ts 6-speeds?

    It is an option that can be ordered on either. It comes with limited slip diff, and the transmission is a re-worked Viper transmission. I would assume due to the fact it came from the Viper it should be rather strong.
    07 3.5L Charger K&N CAI, Magnaflow Cat back, JBA shorty's, DiabloSport 93 tune sold, 2010 Challenger R/T 5 speed. 180 degree Thermostat with fan settings lowered, CC, ceramic brake pads, slotted rotors, red and black caliper paint, Challenger label for calipers, Corsa Cat back, functional hood ducts, and hood struts, 93 custome DiabloSport tune, Mopar drop in filter, JBA Shorty's, Wideband O2, anti-sway bars front and rear, end links, and strut brace.

    Same transmissions. Tremec's. Tried and true in various performance platforms. Some cars got upgraded internals (like the Viper). But all in all you should not have any problems.

    Good luck! The Challenger is an awesomely beautiful machine.

    seeing as the trans is in a 600 hp machine as well, I'm sure it will hold up.

    The whole drivetrain on the manuals has been reeeeeely beefed up!

    I have 8K on my R/T 6-speed and I have beat on it more than once..Never had a problem with it....She is strong..
    If you didn't break something, you didn't race it.


    Mods: skip-shift eliminator installed, SRT Hood struts, Mygig RER ,
    UConnect with auto darkening mirror, HSA turned off!!!.

    I concur, I have over 4500 miles on mine and no issues, in fact it seems to be really smooth now that it's broken in some.

    I've got 130,000 Kms (about 90,000 miles) on my 96 LT1 Formula with a Tremec. Had it since new, raced it alot, only prob has been a slightly bent 2-3 shift fork (or at least I'm told that's what the problem is). Not bad enough for me to bother fixing. These trannies seem to be bullet-proof.
