    R/T fuel economy

Just noticed they finaly have the epa numbers for the R/T, what the heck happed to thr 5% increase in economy over the old 5.7, the new 5.7 with the 5 speed auto dropped to 14/20 from 15/23 and the hp is now only 357 not the 370 the orignaly stated and the torque increase is gone which is very disapointing, at 5% increase it would have been ok, but a 7% city and 14% highway drop is a step way in the wrong direction and pushes it into the relm of gas guzzler. Very disapointed to see Dodge is still not getting with the times and working on fuel economy, sadly my next car will likey be my first non-dodge in over 10 year at this rate :/

Where did you get the info from? Interesting but the challenger brochure says 370hp and 398tq for the 5.7.

Don't know about the HP and torque figures but the EPA has changed their algorithm for testing mileage and EVERY manufacturer has taken a hit in the MPG numbers.

It should do better than that. We have the 6.1 and with doing the CAI we are firmly sitting at 15.5 in town.

I saw it on the specs page on the Dodge web site, glad to see it's wrong, 16/25 is better than I was hoping from when ther said a 5% increase.

This is what I was talking about too (which is still this way as of 2 mins ago) on the Dodge web site, this was what they had under the technical data section.

That's a misprint... those are Aspen specs... no LX car has 3.73 gears with an automatic... 357 h.p. is the '09 h.p. spec for the Durango/Aspen twins... 16/25 for the Manual and 16/24 for the auto is what I've seen... 08 lx's were rated 15/23 according to window stickers...
