exactly!!!...first test they said it was based on price,ok cool I can understand that. At the end of the day though everyone wants to see the top trim level against the top trim level. So what does MT do?..They put two blown cars that are WAY more expensive against the cheaper BONE STOCK challenger!.. what idiots!!!

What a disaster of an article. Talk about anti Mopar they even had a Hennesey supercharged Camaro!
I'm sure he had a Challenger or two around they could have used as well . . .but that wouldn't have been apples to apples as the supercharged Camaro represented a pseudo Z-28 that doesn't exist.

They were bitching about the base price differences and saying it wasnt fair to compare the base SS with the SRT , then went ahead and compared a boosted SS that was 14k over the SRT. Wtf Even the snake was priced over the SRT. These guys are tools for sure.

"We just have to level the playing field a bit, because putting Dodge and Ford's topflight V-8 pony cars against Chevy's best V-8 Camaro isn't fair from a price or model lineup perspective. The 425 horsepower, 6.1 liter Challenger SRT8 and 426 horse, 6.2 liter Chevy SS compare favorably in engine output and displacement, but the Shelby blows both away with 540 ponies from its supercharged 5.4 liter. Unfortunately, Dodge offers nothing greater from the factory or SRT division. To make this fair, we need something bigger, badder, and ballsier from the General. What we need is the Camaro Z/28. Problem is, that car doesn't exist."

So why are they are using and aftermarket powered SS to Factory SRT.

If they're gonna use a Hennessy Camaro and a Shelby 500- why not use the Dodge "Trojan Edition" Challenger, since price is no object!!

I think for what they had to work with it was not a bad article.

I mean how many after market turn key people do we have for the SRT cars ? 1 Mr Norms ? I don't count Hennessy as I could never suggest someone spend money with him.

why bother with the testing..... GM must have diverted some funds from Nascar support to MT and Hennessey for this fiasco

umm, how about thee guys then? http://www.g5challenger.com/

you have a point, but saying "we need the Z28, but it doesnt exist" is kind of unfair. i could say "we need the challenger T/A SRT, but it doesnt exist..." am i right? yes, it doesnt exist. since we have no specs on this imaginary product, it could be the biggest, baddest product out there.

Never heard of or seen one actually run Chris.

Dodge does themselves no service with how they handle the aftermarket and custom builders.

The article really took a turn. First stating that the first test was based on price then the next test was based on best car available from maker. It is a total fix. 2 blown cars against 1 N/A and guess what, as always it is Mopar being put down.
Why not run the Camaro SS and SRT8 against the Shelby GT500. Well they couldn't have Chevy come in last. Not only that but they got a stock 13.2 second 1/4 mile time when drivers on this forum have gotten below 12.9 completely stock. C'mon was grandma driving?

In mid july heat 13.2 is right on par. maybe if Chrysler would allow sh|t to be done to these cars there would be a fair shake in the testing. IMO it was a good article and I dont know why your all crying about GM they didn't even win the Shelby did.
