    Just drove an SRT8 Challenger!!

Ok, this was the first SRT8 of any LX that I have driven and all I can say is OH MY GOD!! I still have a grin on my face. I have forgotten what true BHP and torque are like!!! My brother in law runs a customizing shop and has one that he is prepping for SEMA and I was lucky enough to get to romp around the block for a bit. Overall feel is not too different from the other LXs interior wise, and the rear pillar has a massive blind spot, but aside from that you know you are in a Challenger and it is set apart from the other LXs. Like I said, OH MY GOD!!! Turn off the ESP and let 'em burn. There is nothing cooler then a new car that can get sideways with a simple press of a pedal. Toxic or not a big cloud of white stinky smoke surrounding the car is just too cool for words!! I now fully understand hoonage at 38 years old. I also know now why I need to stick with my SXT Magnum and not go out and buy the Challenger RT in a few months...gas and tickets. I already know that there is no way in hell I could keep my foot off that pedal!! What a great ride!

They truly are a great ride. As far as the tickets go, you just have to know when to show restraint. 2 years with the SRT8 Charger and now the Challenger, not even pulled over once.

Yeah, Restraint.....nope that is for really wild Friday nights after a few too many pints. Nope, I have no restraint. When I get in a car like this I feel like a 16 year old all over again. Congrats on a great ride. When you are ready to make it incredibly unique shoot me a PM and I can send you my brother-in-laws website. They are working on something amazing for SEMA this year with a Challenger. Cheers.

I have yet too see a Challenger in person, yet alone drive one. :-(

I have a Charger R/T and I might trade it in for a Challenger R/T when they become available. I really like the photos but it might be a different story when I see it in person.

I thought the same thing, but I saw one last weekend when I was visiting Long Beach, CA. The car is sweet!

You know, I was thinking that too before we saw it. I fell in love with the concept car, but I didn't want to preorder one because I wanted to wait and see the production car in person first.

We walked into the dealership and saw it sitting there, and the first words out of my mouth were "oh my god, I have to have that car". People are always telling us that it looks way better in person than in pictures, and it truly does.

Saw an Inferno Red (non SRT8...2009) on a hauler near the plant this morning. Looks great, but then I am slightly swayed by any Inferno Red Mopar!! LOL

Was that your brother in laws Challenger? If not that is a hell of a customizing shop. Free rides in customers cars. "Here's the keys, give her a romp!"

I have to wait till late Sept. / early Oct. thats when I was told the dealerships near me would start receiving the 09 Challenger R/T.

Can't wait! I was going to be adding a few things to my Charger but now I'm waiting to see if I decide to trade in for the Challenger.

I have always liked the Inferno Red, but it seems to be a totally different color, depending which vehicle it is on..
Some of them it looks like just a maroon color, (and I know they were clean,) so I have to wait and see what it looks like on the Challenger..
Should be one here in town this week.!

LOL, like that shirt in your sig by the way. It is the "shop" Challenger they are building for SEMA. It is getting an insane make over, heading to SEMA and then will likely be sold to a very rich person afterwards. The car will likely have over $50K in mods. Makes my pitiful eBay grille mod seem petty and weak by comparison!

HP is cool, but with time, you get used to it and start driving sensibly. I had a 96 Mustang that i left with my customizing shop during a deployment. Dropped a ton of money into it and when I came back it was dynoed in the 430's. I romped the hell out of it for a good six months until I got used to it and it turned into a "car" instead of a "toy". Not to mention I looked like an ass, racing from stoplight to stoplight.
