I need a really big favor...

I have the 2009 Challenger R/T automatic. Mine came with the 306 rear gear. I want to change it over to the "track Pack" 373 gear. My problem is I can't find part numbers. I have 2 dealers trying to get parts. If you ordered your 09 Challenger R/T with the "Track Pack" 373 gear, could you please send me your VIN number so we can look up the part numbers for the rear gears. It must be with the automatic trans. Thanks. John

Thanks again. Could you possibly send me the last nine numbers of your VIN to verify?

The way it's going, I won't get this done until Spring. Since I live in Chicago, winter starts early. If I can't get this done before mid October, it'll be a long wait for results. I'll be checking with those 2 places mentioned earlier in this post for parts or part numbers if for some reason the one I've got doesn't work out. If I can't get that done right now, I'll probably add the Dynatech headers with cats for the last race in October. I'll let you know what that does if that's the way I end up going for this year.

Not sure if this info will do you any good, but for comparison, I was running in 95° weather at the strip against another r/t.. I am bone stock with the 6 spd... He had the corsa exhaust, CAI and the predator, eibach suspension... He took me out of the hole running 306 gears, i think.., I was able to run him down by half track.. I see you have several mods. Might look into the 392s.. I get around 22 mpg (no mds with the 6 spd)...

Not a good comparison, the 392 or 373 are geared to work with the 6 speed tranny and are not even a option in a new automatic car, in the auto 1st gear is so low it a auto matic that along with the 373 or 392 1st is almost useless and you will be cruising at 65-70 mph at about 2500-2700 rpms

A few have done it and it may be fun but I would not jump into it without really doing alot of research

    ?

    X2!!!

we have been hashing this out on the LX's for a long time.

The auto first gear is super short and will be almost ridiculous with that rear gear.

Just be sure that's what you want.

For the street gears are fun, but at the strip...

From what I've heard, that gear will give me close to a half second off my ET. I only go to the strip about once a month from April through October. I have found all the parts and I'm really considering getting them ordered. Any more feed back will be most welcome. I could have the parts here by the end of the week.

I seriously doubt that you could get a 1/2 sec from this, there could be a possibility to loose et...............but it would be alot of fun to play around with.

Why don't you start another thread with the 3.73 gears in the title maybe more people would reply or see it and put it in the trans and axle forum or performance forum instead of Challenger forum

I guess we'll have to wait and see when I get it done. I'm racing again in mid-October weather permitting. In Chicago, you just never know when winter will hit. LOL

Depending on the weather when you had your best run, running in mid October if the weather gets nice and cool can drop your times considerably by itself
