Angry Hurst shifter vibration issue..found cause!(I think)

So most have heard of issues with the Hurst shifter causing vibration in the car. Some say its just the urethane bushing instead of the rubber on the stock one. This could be one issue. In my case I believe it was a bit of a different problem.

I was taking the car in for a recall item and the transmission had been vibrating a lot and I could hear a rattle when the clutch wasn't engaged. So I figured well they might blame the hurst on this so I should take it out. So I take it out and what do I find? A big groove in the bottom of the shifter arms, fork, whatever its called. It lines directly up with the output shaft at the back of the transmission. The rubbing definately could transfer vibration through the shifter. Put stock shifter back on..no vibration, no rattling. Solved that problem. Now the NOT cheap Hurst shifter...thats another issue.

What do people think about this? Anyone else get such a severe vibration that it makes them want to pull the Hurst out? Not sure why mine was so bad?

There is a definite groove in the metal. You think the rest of the shifter would be flat and smooth and just so happens in that place on both sides it is grooved out like that? I think not.

Unless someone that has one that is not installed wants to show me or tell methat they come like this. But I sure dont remember them being there when I got it.

Those look like machining marks. I say that cause if it was wear marks there would be rough corners at the edges and the chamfer or radius looks intact.

I have no issues with my shifter
