Good news for you Challenger people:

What New Car Will Be Most Valuable In 2034?

At the 25-year point some cars, due to their exotic status or specific history, start to see their value appreciate. What new 2009/2010 model-year car will be the most valuable in 2034?
Call us crazy, but we're putting in a vote for the 2009 Dodge Challenger SE Rallye. Why? We have a feeling Ferrari will still be making cars in 2034 but Chrysler... it's hard to say. Historically, special edition cars like the 1969 Dodge Challenger 500 w/ Hemi are considered more collectible than others. As soon as Chrysler becomes an orphan brand people will start looking toward the only valuable Chrysler product left: the Challenger. Plenty of people will have SRT8s and RTs in their collections, but how many will have the special edition Rallye V6 with the five-speed automatic transmission and special five-spoke wheels? You can see where we're going with this.

    lame:

the day a 3.5 gutless POS V6 becomes a collectors item, is also the day hell freezes over..

and that isn't a dig on the V6 guys.. just IMO the Challenger is a Muscle Car, it's name is synonymous with a big V8 that makes big power, to call a "special" base model a collectors item over the top of the line massive horsepower version is just LAME....

what is even more lame is that Chrysler thinks this is "special"

when the Challenger fans asked for a 5-speed transmission, I suspect they where talking about a Manual with a clutch.. not the tip-tronic NAG1 that we already have..
    once again Chrysler FAILS..

they FAIL to meet customer expectations
they FAIL to make something people want
they FAIL to do anything but slap some stickers and left over parts on an exisiting model, and call it something new

    Chrysler simply FAILS... period...

    Buick Skylark or the Roadmaster?

but those are not muscle cars, Buick is synonymous with big luxury, not big power...

and that was my point, the Challenger name induces thoughts of big power, big motor, Manual transmission, fast 1/4 mile times..
    not a wimpy V6 with a wannabe 5-speed, autostick....

It could be worth $1 million and still have a wimpy engine. There are also better forms of investment than a car. No thanks.

Anything with a Chrysler slant 6 engine is now increasing in value everyday. It can happen. You have to look at the total picture.

not saying it doesn't make sense, not saying it won't happen, just saying the idea of a Challenger Special Edition car that is a V6 with some special stickers and off the shelf parts from other cars is lame..

    yeah forgot about that one..

hopped up Buick Regal, that was named for the NASCAR Grand National,

a 3.8L Turbo V6 that in 1987 sold for the same as a Corvette.. $29,000

the difference, and why it has a collectors value:

    it was:

    Produced by McLaren/ASC,
    it pulled: 276 hp/ 360 lb·ft of torque in 1987, numbers unheard of for a V6 motor.

in 1987 only 1547 where produced as the Grand National
and only 215 produced with the WE4 package.

the car was built for power at a time when power was hard to come by and muscle cars had all but disappeared for nearly 15 years..

What exactly does this Rally Challenger offer other than some stickers and again, off the shelf parts from already existing cars..

it isn't unique.. it isn't different.. it just is..

How much are the 1 year vette's worth? They had a 6 and a wimpy one to todays standard, and it is considered a great car (not by me though, I prefer the 2009 ZR1)
