    Extended warranty

Is it worth paying $1,500 for a 7 year extended warranty on an 08 Challenger. And it would have no deductable. The 08 has a 3 year warranty.

We held off on it, just because of the initial price of the car and the extra $$ we wanted to spend in mods right off the bat. We plan to add it later. IMO it's worth it, especially for the SRT and for any first edition car, as we have no idea what will go wrong on them yet.

I plan on keeping it for many years, and drive the wheels off it.

I won't be purchasing the extended warranty simply because I know as long as I have a warranty on the car I will put off some of the more involved mods like engine mods. This way I'll have 3 years of doing some of the 'lighter' mods (exhaust, intake, etc.) and once I hit that 3-year mark all bets are off and I'll go wild on it. Then again, I'm getting an '09 so I don't have the concern about how 'stock' I should keep it since the '08s are numbered and limited edition.

You didn't say how many miles on the extended warranty, so can't tell if $1,500 is reasonable.
This site sells Chrysler extended warranties at a reasonable price.
You might give them a call, and compare to your contract.
The best prices are generally $100 to $150 over dealer's cost.
My local dealers in California were all too expensive, so I called a little town dealer in Alabama and got a good deal. This dealer told me their cost. Many won't.

I actually got the extended warranty when I bought mine.
I actually gt mine for MSRP with lojack, warranty for free. It helps knowing the dealer owner
I received the paperwork yesterday telling me what is covered and not covered. It is a true bumper to bumper the only thing it didnt cover in the drive train (all i read) was break pads, drums, rotors, and manual trans clutch.
i fell it was worth it for me. Since I didnt pay for it

Mine covers the drive train also. It is basically a bumber to bumper with the exception brake pads and rotors, belts and plugs and maintance parts. It a 7 year 60,000 miles, zero deductable. Cost $1,500.

7/85k zero deductible I paid $1300 from Wittrock Chrysler (have to mention you are a forum member for the discount)

FYI also, you can buy the Service Contract up to 4 years, 48K miles from the day the car was first sold/titled..

even if the 3/36K is up you can still purchase the service contract for 1 more year or 12K more miles after that..
