I would not be suprised to see the factory make the challenger convertable ....if GM drops the camaro.

    Or goes under!

GM has already postponed the Camaro convertible. It's on the MotorTrend site. I've heard mumblings there is a possibility it is cancelled.

Also I thought the factory Challenger convert was killed too.

They will make a Challenger convert. The reason they are saying it's killed is more than likely due to the fact that they want people that are holding out for the vert to buy now rather than wait. Then more than likely when the vert drops those people will buy a NEW vert and sell the coupe. Chrysler benefits all around from it. Just my thoughts.

^^^ I hope you are right, but i doubt it. There's a lot of frame work that would need to be done, and with the price of an SRT vert, you would be looking in Vet territory.

I'll keep my fingers crossed, because I think for the ***few*** people that would actually buy it, it would be a slick car!

If they "rectructure"and sell off the viper line then a challenger convertable should be

a viable product, expecially if the camaro is totally killed.

These are tough times my friends, cost cutting and downsizing just doesn't start at home!

What about letting Coach Builders convert one? Can the frame conversion handle the torque fron the engine? Is the car still safe?

How about a vert with the cuda conversion in plum crazy that HSC is doing?

It looks like Coach Builders is taking orders:

    http://www.coachbuildersltd.com/challenger.html

I spoke with the rep today and they said for $16,000 you can make your challenger a drop top. HMMMM is it worht it? This may be the only way to get a vert. Also the rep said they're looking at doing a camaro also since GM has postponed their vert.
