    Challenger Recall

I had my car in for a recall on Saturday, they replaced my ground cable and reprogramed my radio and ESP. After waiting 3 hours for the work to be done, the car is like new now, it lights up like crazy with the ESP still engaged.

I have been reading threads on the Challenger Forum for months about the small gauge wire used on the ground cable, and somebody finally got through to Chrysler to put out the recall. I did not hear if anyone actually had any malfunctions, mine seemed fine, but the dealership said there was a strain on the battery. I'm glad it's all better and goes like snot now.

I believe this is the one your are talking about http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/Challeng...onse_09019.pdf

    and this one http://www.wkjeeps.com/misc/Challeng...onse_09018.pdf

Not a recall (there have only been 3 recalls since they came out in 08) but an RRT's (rapid response transmittal), it's been out since April.
Did they also change your battery ?

Mine is still working fine and I looked it up on thier list thing and my car wasn't listed as needing one, so until it does I'll just keep her as it is. I was worried about this also but it seems to only affect some cars not all. Am I right on this or should I just have them check it out and get it changed out?

When they replaced the cables, they needed to recalibrate the ESP.

You can go to the following dodge site and put in your VIN to see if you have any recals.

You also may have flickering lights it's a simple fix at the dealership and when you disconnect the battery they have to reflash your system no big deal. The problem seems to be limited to a few vehicles mostly the earlier production builds. As with any new vehicle they are going to have bugs to work out. When I picked up my car from Bob Fredericks dealership they had already gone through all of the TSB for the Challenger and even checked to make sure that the correct gears were in the rear end as some of the April cars got 373 when they should have gotten the 392. I hope this helps as many seem to get worried over the small things.

As I lay rubber down the street, I pray for traction I may keep, and if I do begin to slide, please dear God protect my ride! - Amen!!!!
