Can't find a diecast? Build your own!

I know that very few of us are in to building models anymore. Maybe you should give it a try. I've gotten back in to the hobby after a couple of decades layoff. Here is a recently completed '09 AMT Challenger R/T:

The camera flash makes the paint look kind of orangey but it is actually a very good replication of Inferno Red.

I would love to have wheels like this on my 1:1 Challenger.

I put a dab of amber paint behind the inboard lenses to replicate the signal lamps.

This was a very simple kit. Low parts count, no engine, but well detailed and easy to build. I bought another one yesterday so I can make a B5 car with a phantom white interior!

Why not just take apart a 1:18 and detail it?

Try Ross, T.J. Maxx, Mervyn's, or Wal Mart... I bought a coworker a build-your-own Chally kit.

I have many diecast cars but I don't like how they are not easy to modified plus their is no place I found that you can put the scale model chrome wheels or a mesh grill, etc.

I only wish that they would make them in an 18 inch diameter. I just can't seem to save up the $$ for wheels and tires.
The Boss 338s are o.k. but I really want the Torque Thrusts.
