    Canadians do it better!

Both the new Challenger and new Camaro are to be built in Ontario Canada about 50 kilometres (lol) from each other. I guess we just do it better.

I couldn't be happier for the 2700 or so employees who now have some job security in Oshawa. Speaking of the Challenger production plant... did they say they were goiing to build in Brampton? If so... Thats awesome.

The announcement for the Challenger assembly plant is expected to be made sometime in September (last I heard).

As much as I'd like to think we build cars better than our neighbours I don't think its the case. Its a little term called "Quality Control" No matter where the car is built the process and detail are near identical. I think the real reason GM decided to build the car in Ontario is because they can build it cheaper for one and two... The McGuinty Goverment. (There I said it) The government has agreed to help pay $435 Million out of the $2.5 billion in re-structuring costs. To me thats quite the incentive to build north of the border. What else is great is the platform in which the Camaro will be built on (ZETA) is also the same platform for the next gen Impala and Cadillac DTS.

So all the police cars (charger, magnum, impala, crown vic) are made in canada and so will be two of their key prey -- challenger and camaro.
