    2009 Challenger R/T track times

Took the new Challenger out to the strip yesterday with 560 miles on her. After playing with tire pressure and launch RPMs my best time of the day was 13.6 @ 103mph. I'm running the Eagle F1 Supercar rears and only have the K&N Aircharger intake. A tuner and Cat Back will be going on by Spring. I was impressed. With a few more mods, she'll be a match for an SRT for a lot less money and better mileage.

couple thousand more miles and the car will wake up a bit too. These cars are notorious for that.

Ya might change your opinion about a match when a few mods are put on an SRT.

Yes, stock SRT is faster than an stock RT, but after that it's gloves off. Who ever has more money will most likely win.

That's all very true. I probably should have said it would be a match for a stock SRT. But over the next few years, I do have more plans. It may never match a heavily modded SRT, but with the things I want to do, it should be more than respectable. I also weighed the car with me in it. 4100 pounds. So about 3900 without my lard ass in it. LOL

That's a great time!! Our track opens up next weekend and I can't wait to get mine out for the first time! I have a Techco CAI, 85mm throttle body, and might have my 175 ZEX shot and MBRP exhaust on by then.

The new ZEX kit for the Challenger has 75-175 hp jets, and it's all part of their engine management system that comes with the kit. Safe and sound, but we are working with Diablo on the new VVT 5.7 engine tuning (mine will be the test car when they get to that point) so Johan at Diablo will also be doing a custom tune, when available.

Ah, no, wouldn't do that, lol. ZEX sent us their first production kit for the Challenger so we are doing the first 5.7 install (they tested on a 6.1) and write-up for the forums, etc.

Lisa, I believe you said previously you got only the basic's with your R/T.
Still at $29K thats a good deal, it's below MSRP.

I might be interested in some parts from you after I see what does what on yours. Mine is an automatic. I want to see what I can do on motor over the next couple years. Money can be an issue. It'll be a little at a time. Next up by spring will be the cat back, tuner and maybe a throttle body. Down the road, headers, cam and possibly heads. Please keep me informed.
PS to Lisa at BMC, I've sent you a couple e-mail and never got a reply. Like I said, I may be looking for some parts over the winter.
