09 Challenger Production Start

Got an answer from Mike Ellis (Chrysler spokesman) that production will start on the 09 Challengers this next week!

Who wants one of those "year old" 08 Challengers anyway when you can get an 09 in just a few months (or less).

According to my sources SE's and RTs are first followed by the SRTS.

That only makes sence. They need to get the affordable cars out there and sold first. Chrysler needs massive volume on the Challenger to keep it around. I hope they sell SE's like Ford sells V6 Mustangs or even better!

This is the answer I got exactly, which is really no answer !

Can't get into specifics right now on Challenger production. All I can say is that produciton starts within days.

Yeah, I would think people ordered more R/Ts and SEs than SRTs for 2009.

I'm getting sick of this. I want my 09 SRT8 this fall, or I will be looking at buying a V8 Camaro early next year-I've just about had it with Dodge's "limited production" (with cool dash plaques) and secrecy about future model availability and delivery dates. Chevy will reportedly have plenty of all models available in early '09, but of course that remains to be seen..I'll eventually own one of them, but I'm not so sure it's gonna be the Challenger (which I prefer) anymore.

You should ask him if they're planning on any special editions of the Challenger, like the Super Bee..

^^^ Yeah, it would be really cool to have like a cuda version with a 6.4 HEMI. Now that would be my next car over the used Viper i was thinking of getting.
