    Would you trust this?

Who would trust this and what's the difference between the various intake systems? I'm not a cheap ass, but if I can get something for $50 that will do the job, why not?

A few members have them. They do sound better , but arent very high quality. Some have fallen apart , but others have been just fine.

If you are looking for performance gains , the best thing reportedly out on the market now for the 2.7L is Weapon-R's "Secret Weapon". Everyone is anticipating the Rev's new invention though , so I would hold off and see what that offers. I'm sure he will have a variation for both the 2.7 and 3.5

Remember, you pay for what you get.. I saw a few threads over on the 300cforum and they were complaining about how cheap the tube was. The ends of the tube looked like they were just cut prior to shipping, they still had the burrs on the end and scratches from a grinder or sander.

    Sorry Reeg,

I just realized that I was recommending a V8 mod. Air Hammer is the CAI that Rev. Hammer created and it is great, but for V8 5.7, etc. I am not sure if he has something done for the V6.

By the way, you got people in Fargo, bumping to your mixes.

Good lookin' fam! So lemme ask you and everyone else then, what would be a cost efficient way to get rid of either the filter that's in right now (obviously add a K&N) or make the current intake better? I thought I've seen some guys takin the top of the box off and putting a cone on. Any truth to that?

I kept the existing intake and just the filter for looks right now, until hammer comes out with their V6 product.

    1) Remove the air silencer if you have one. Drop in a K&N filter using the stock box.
Removing the stock air silencer. *

    2) make a smoothe bore intake tube to replace the corrugated plastic tube.
    **3.5" Smooth-bore intake for 3.5L**New Mod**

    3) Buy a kit. K&N and Weapon-R replace the tube , most others use the existing tube. You'll be looking at roughly $260-$300 though.

I've got one of those intakes from ebay. Chrome intakes was the seller. I've had it on for a few months now and I haven't had any problems with it. The tube didn't feel "cheap," thought he hole that was cut in for the air intake sensor was elongated a little. The provided grommet still sealed ok. I think it added a nice sound to the engine. I'm not sure if I'd recommend it yet. I'll let mine sit in the car for at least a year before I'd say it's all that. The way I looked at it was for $50, what can it hurt? Besides, I got mine as a temporary until the v6 Airhammer unit comes out!
