Talking true hp for V-6 3.5 chrysler

What is the true hp when you put on duel exhast and a good intake. The v-6 has 250 hp now but how much does it have when you add exhast and intake. The true numbers would be great if you have them. I know they say ad ons give you 20 to 30 hp but that cant be true hp is it?

What you're asking for is tough to provide. There's so many ways to measure HP...at the wheels, at the crank, SAE, Gross etc. I think there are more questions to ask before this answer which remain unanswered here on this forum....such as, 'how restricting IS the stock exh on a 3.5?' Of course the vendors are gonna give you super claims...it's their business. A free flowing exhaust is a great foundation to build upon however, but don't expect magic on any normally aspirated vehicle (RT's included!). If you want the sound which is a big plus, then hell, do it...If you want a full second at the strip with no other mods, don't bother. Hate to lay it out so bluntly but it's pretty much a fact without other power adders. I think the 3.5 is a great motor but unless there is a huge engineering deficit on the exh side, an exhaust isn't going to give magic power. I may totally be wrong here and welcome input but in looking at the motor design, I don't think so. I think I'd be sticking to the stock system unless I were putting on something like a fat cam or forced induction.

-Edit- I know I didn't answer your question explicitley but hopefully it'll help?

Tough to say. Best thing to do is to dino it before and after the exhaust mod.

    Thumbs up

Expect 2-3% increase with a free flowing exhaust. I base that response on personal experience after throwing money away in the past, and, on the results of a desktop dydno program.

If you like the sound, do it, but don't do it because you expect it to give you 20 hp....It won't.

    I agree with Trouble....He's a wise person.

The power increase when I put on my Zoomers and my K & N Aircharger on my 3.5 is very noticeable. I have not dyno'ed it but there is a definite increase in power.
