    SXT Dual exhaust.

Not that I can afford it but I was just wondering, how do you put dual exhaust on the SXT as far as the rear bumper is concerned? There is no cutout for the second pipe. Do you have to buy an RT bumper and have it painted? I see Zoomers offers a dual system for the SXT. What do they do to install it unless you already have the RT bumper?

From looking on the underside it looks like there is already dual pipes but then they join into one. It's too bad they didn't just keep it dual all the way out.

You have to make a cardboard template of the location of the cutout on the right, then you reverse it and make the cutout on the other side with your dremel.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

Aparently there is a Mopar dual exhaust trim kit pending for the V-6 magnums: P/N 82210055

    Here's a link to Wyckoff's add: http://wyckoffchryslerparts.com/300300tomach.html

I believe the dual exhaust on this page replaces the stock muffler with a single-in/dual-out muffler so I doubt it'd be much of a flow increaser.

That's cool. I think it's always better to go Mopar when you can.

If you are looking for a performance gain, stick with the single exhaust set-up. I have read in other posts that the dual exhaust actually robs you of some power. But I have not driven a dual exhaust V-6 myself. I have the Zoomers single cat-back system, and it sounds great and the power increase was definitely noticable.

I put the dual exhaust I took off my RT on my wife's SXT. A cardboard template and a box knife took care of the bumper cutout. Some stainless tube and the SXT cut off clamped sections , all slipped together to adapt the RT 2.5" ID to the SXT 2.25" OD header pipes takes care of the connections. 2 brackets and rubber hangers are needed for the LH rear pipe. Heat shield made from galv. sheetmetal with 4 layers of fiberglass cloth held on with silicon sealant. Works great, reasonably quiet (for the wife) and increased power and mileage.

Hi flow intake and exhaust usually robs you of low rpm tourqe and gives you hp at higher rpms. You can see the shift on any dyno chart.

i'm still trying to figure out why noone has paid the 100.00 to do a few before and after runs on a dyno so we can get some solid numbers.

I would do it, but I never got the car dyno'ed when it was bone stock. Also a trick that helps out of you go the custom route. I had an X-Pipe put in behind the cats. Equalizes the exhaust and gives it a smooth but agressive tone. Did notive some torque loss at the low end until I put the K&N CAI on. Broght some back down. I did not really care as I do not spend too much time in the low RPM range anyway. Gas mileage got really respectable then too! Probably do 80mph average on the freeway and see about 20mpg average with some street drivng as well.

Wow, I'm getting 18-20 (2 mi. commute) in town and got 27 on the highway doing 80 on a recent road trip back from Houston. Stock exhaust. What kind of MPG were you getting before the exhaust.

If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?
