    stage II Jet chip w/o aftermarket exhaust??

    I have ordered the Airraid intake and a stage 2 jet chip for my SXT. I am currently trying to save money for the Zoomer's Dual setup. I was wondering if it would negatively affect the car to install the stage II without upgrading your exhaust? I really want to put the Jet chip in but I don't want to mess anything up in a 2006 car either.

    My experience with Jet chips is Jet2 really needs CAI and at least cat back exhaust. Ithink part of the increase in performance is in richening up air/fuel ratio to compensate for better air flow. I got 15.5 more hp on dyno after install. A Jet 1 chip actually resulted in 2 less hp on my Hemi Ram untill my dealer got me the Jet 2. Put some dielectric grease on conectors when you install to prevent future corrosion, I had to replace the one in my RT due to corrosion, of course in Maine winters we drive in salt conditions a lot.

    Thanx for the reply Formerice. I am on an island in the middle of the atlantic so salt humidity and corrosion all go hand and hand here. I will try and be patient but I am excited to see how the car feels with that chip installed.

    Please try the chip before you do any other modification and report back to us. The streets are full of cars with numerous mods and little change inperformance, I don't want to be one of those who waste money on worthles, unproven mods.

    I'm interested in any changes in fuel economy resulting from a chip change only. We have a 2005 SXT with no mods, interested in a chip if it will help a completely stock car.

    A thorough test of the Cold Air Kits was done and posted on this board, complete with dyno results. You should read it. The stock air intake was very, very good! I don't think you will need a CAI to get top performance from the 3.5L.

    Seems to me that the Jet Chip is the only mod that's "proven" to give performance gains. Well, that and the supercharger...maybe the headers...

    If you can solve your problem, then what is the need of worrying? If you cannot solve it, then what is the use of worrying?

    Lburou I will install the chip when I get everything in and try and get you a gas comparison. I am on an island so I won't be able to get good highway MPG just city driving. I think if you are only going to use it for fuel economy you definetely should go with stage I if it does improve MPG that is. As far as the intake I'm not expecting to much improvement over stock I just like how cars sound with upgraded intake and exhaust. Lastly I have posted about this before but I think headers would be an awesome mod for us LX 3.5 owners so if anyone hears any rumors about this becoming a reality please let me know.

    which zoomers duals are u talking about? I was under the impression that zoomers was only a single for the v6. please post a link if u have one

    www.zoomersexhaust.com and click on the 300 SXT it has the dual setup. I decided to go with the Mopar duals do to money issues though.
