    Removed the muffler ..

I had the large oval muffler removed (left the resonator), and a straight pipe installed in place .. I was hoping it would be louder than stock, but it sounds almost exactly the same. Lost some weight and back-pressure.
Based on my "Butt - Dyno", it definitely feels like it gained a few HP. This is one of the cheapest and best "bang - for - the - buck" mods out there .. cost about $60 at the local muffler shop.
    Next up .. an Airhammer

Don't always rely on the butt-dyno to tell. Could be the infamous placebo effect.

Hopefully the V6's don't drone like the V8's do when you do the brylcreem mod...

I did that on my RT and it droned pretty bad, right in the rpm ranges I use...

I do have to agree, it's been awhile since I've had my "butt-dyno" calibrated, so I could have been feeling what I wanted to. The wife says it has gotten about 2 mpg better, but then it could be the colder wetter weather making her keep her foot out of it as well.

I have been thinking about eliminating the muffler as well. I have the Blastin Bob 10db dual kit. I wonder if it would have more impact on sound/performance given the exhaust not being completely stock...any thoughts?

Best bet is to remove the resonators. if you want a rumble sound and leave the muffler on.
