    Ram air question?

    Just a quick question,

I had a ram air hood installed on my mag. It has the airbox but its not a closed system.... the air box delivers right above my CAI.

At highway speeds, how much of a difference should that make with a functional airbox installed ?

I mean... does it do anything for the horse or the gas milage?

Well I'm sure it keeps the engine bay cooler and you might get some cooler air going into your intake.

If it was a sealed sytem at highway speads it would be like any forced air induction. IE it's pushing MORE air into the intake (of course not as much as a turbo or a supercharger) so you would maybe notice a slight increase. It would also be cooler air, again a slight increase. As far as milage I don't know if it would increase it any but it should net you a couple of ponies.
Too many people buy things they don't need, with money they don't have, trying to impress people they don't even like...
Where am I going again and why am I in this handbasket?

At highway cruising speeds, any extra HP due to cooling or ram air is moot. You are only using about 20% of your HP potential to keep the car moving. You might get a slight MPG boost if the air path wasn't so torturous. Under hood temps at cruising speeds and higher are nearly ambient anyway.
