    Howdy

    Hey folks, newbie here....

Just traded my hemi 1500 for a 06' Charger SE. My wife drives an 05' Magnum SXT.

I got a question for the old timers.... Do our cars have a limited slip rear? I know with the ESP turned off my wifes 3.5 won't do jack, but my Charger lit them both up today for a good 15-20 feet. I ask because my Ram was an open rear gear but when new and tight would spin both rear wheels. So my Charger open or limited slip?

Thanks - and the site looks great, I have already learned quite a bit in one day!

Thanks, I will get pictures up when I have them both clean and looking sharp!

As far as the rear axle question, thanks too. So when the car is broken in will I be back to the one wheel wonder deal? I had fun today drifting sideways just a touch with both spinning. (why can't we have a charger version doing a burn out? )

    Thanks all!!

zxlwno - to me they are about the same, but Charger seems to have a lighter pedal, just a touch less resistance. Also, it will smoke the tires, something the Magnum seems to be unable to do. The 3.90 gear in the Magnum is most likely the reason for that. Other than that they ride the same.

Nice coronet - the front seat looks just like my brothers '67. His is a 4 door, but was originally blue and has the blue interior w/ front bench.

(this picture is from around 2000 - note the one tire spinnings with the open differential)

As far as your differential, it is an open diff, but the ESP serves in a capacity as an electronically limited slip diff. Basically, as the car senses a tire spinning, it diverts power to the other side.

The result will be both tires lighting them up if you keep your foot to the floor. I've done numerous burnouts and get twin strips every time. I also did a doughnut and had two rings.

    here's an example:
"Walkin' the thin white line on this smiling road. 40 days, I've been all alone. Draggin' my heart all across this world. I got 100 miles to go before I get back to see my girl. Aint got nothing, I got nothing to lose. I keep walking away these blues. The cup is broken, but it's half full. I got 100 miles to go before I get back to see my girl."

I live on the west side of town but work on the far east side so I take Interstate 10 a lot. We go to DM for air shows. I also like looking at the the plane boneyard. Bum Steer and Wildcat House are 2 places I've been lots of times.

I've smoked the tires on my Magnum SXT on more than one occasion. Things have to be just right but it will work. It's easer to do it when starting a turn but I've also done it at 2 different drag strips on a straight line.
