    Angry HELP! StarScan/ Fog Lights ????s

    I should have posted here first, seeing as how many of us V6s have done this mod....

    So, I installed my fogs today and took it to my local dealer, where I bought the car, to get the StarScan. They started doing it and said my "MDS"? wasn't equipped with a fog light option....so I'm sitting there wondering if they even knew what the hell they were doing? Isn't that what StarScan is for, to program and let the computer recognize that there are fog lights? From what I understand this is a simple procedure and just wondering why these guys couldn't figure it out. Has anyone ever had this problem, or should I just go to another dealer and get this done?

    It blew my mind because everything I have read on here has said its very simple, and these so called dodge techs couldn't figure it out. Now are you supposed to program this in there or should the computer recognize it when everything is installed?

    Don't know about the LX, but the newer cars now need them to program options in to their system, download a new config file from Chrysler and then program that in.

    It's enough to make sure I never update my StarMobile again.

    Go to another dealer, it should take a dealer less then 10 MINs to turn the fogs on.
    So damn custom, I don't even need a sig!

    10 minutes with a StarMobile. 25 with a StarScan, unless it's already booted. Those things are slow!

    StarScans are slow, I had the chance to acutally play around with one at dealership when they turned my fogs on for me!

    I think I'll be going to another dealer, they had no clue. It was a very strange experience with these so called "techs". They were going to do it for free so I didn't have a problem until they told me all that. Oh well, guess I just got to pay now.

    I'll take pics tomorrow of the connections and post for you all to make sure I got everything plugged in the right spot. It all looks correct to me but then again maybe thats the problem.

    I think the answer is here Fog Lights Installation. Enabling fog lamps is part of the vehicle preparation menu. As this reply shows, you can also have them programed to stay on with the highbeams - Export mode.

    I'm new here, but thought I would join to give some info. I am not sure what year your vehicle is, but mine is an 07 Charger 2.7L. I just bought it 3 weeks ago and installed the mopar foglights a few days ago. When I went to the dealership to have them turned on, they did not find it under Vehicle Prep. You have to tell them to make there way into the module and it could be under Front Module.... at least that is where mine was. My charger is an 07 with a build date of 07-07. Hope that helps.     My MDS varies the voltage to my fogs depending how light it is outside.lol

    Yes, had this done last spring, see if you can get them to flash the pcm, fogs ON with Highbeams. It's just soo cool that way.
