has anyone ever gave thought to Cryo2 systems?

to be in place of the jet module.....

reason for asking this, is the jet does its work by telling the computer via the IAT sensor, that cooler air is comming in, and the computer adjusts from the fooling of it....

however the air comming in always hotter than what the jet chip reports. hence the more fuel, and advance of spark...

the Cryo2 system by DEI actually cools the air, comming in by passing the air past a bulb or honeycomb (similar to a catalytic converter), and the IAT sensor will read the cooler air and adjust the same way the jet module does...

however heres the advantage, the air comming in, is actually cooler and more oxygen dense, hence better combustion and more power.

just a thought for yas... systems can be found on ebay for around the jet module price, and if you look around for dealers you can find deals...

Back in 2005 we had a magnum RT with one of these setup at Englishtown. It was on a very cool day, the DA was very favorable...

There was no difference in the times.

This was before we were swapping Thrmostats, and had fan mods.... So I'm not sure if it would be beneficial in the warmer parts of the country.

Honestly, if you are going to go through the trouble of plumbing something like that... why not just go with N2O? That'll cool your charge too....

I now recall that it was Mr. Magnum Man that had it on his car...

Here is an old thread about the system... again... 2 years old...

pretty much all i will post about will be something i've already tried, granted it may be on different vehicles, all vehicles make power the same way...

just suggesting things people can use, without risking damage, things that have been proven to work...

nitrous can also more easily blow an engine as well. you can cool the air to an extreme degree and alls well. too much nitrous and stuff goes bad. i've seen pistons go through hoods from early spraying, but when done right can be safe, but only for track use, most places its illegal outside of the track.

good stuff bout the runswhat kinda of a setup, did you guys adjust to on track day? cooler days, less traction, tire pressure or tire change, or anything like that? track performance can vary with temp, only cause you can make more power, but lose traction due to cooler temps..

Well, here is one minor problem. Hal compares the readings between the ambient air temp and the AIT sensor. If the values don't correlate (I think I remember something like 10-15 degrees differential) it will go to the default setting. This will cancel your gains by fooling the AIT sensor.

But the reality is that the colder the air, the better charge you get and you'll gain from that alone.
From wild to extra wild we got you covered with crap ya never knew you needed.

The first 6.1 transformation and it all went down hill from there.

true, its the whole "checks and balances" setup, kinda like the oxygen sensors run off of....well thinking of it, most electrical things in the car that monitor...

that can possibly explain why the jet module hasnt had as much success through dyno testing to perform as well as it claims.

My only concern would be condensation and/or ice formation on a humid day at the track. I wouldn't want water or ice sucked into my engine.

really not a problem. on boosted cars, some use a water injection kit to lower air temps. also think about those who encounter extreme foggy areas, or harsh winters. even with a stock box you take in some sort of condensation.

hydrolock would only occur with a relatively significant amount of water.

no worries also the link Random Access posted below, touched on that Gather Round! More Good News!!!
