    The Experiment is finished...

Well I had my RT sways and SRT springs installed on my SE today. For all those wanting to know if the car is lower...yes and no. As I dreaded the front didnt drop as low as I wanted. Maybe a 1/2 inch at best, the rear on the other hand sits at a very nice height. Will I take them off and install real lowering springs? Probably at a later date. The difference really isn't that noticeable. Actually it looks like the original stance except lower. The second was the install of the RT sways....that my friend made a big difference in the way the car felt. The sways and shocks eliminated the nasty floaty bouncy feel the car has through the corners. There was actually a bar in the SE already...I didnt notice it in my hatch area until I left the shop. I threw it out along with the stock springs. I figured that I am hording to much stuff already.

Sooo...for all the SE owners out there considering it, take a look at my forthcoming pics. Sorry I am still in Massachussetts and the cable for the camera is back in NY.

I havent done the springs yet but the sways do a good job. I am sure all SE and SXT at least have a front sway. The Rt/SRT sway is just bigger. I think I will be trying the SRT springs soon.

Sweet that is good to know I should be getting my setup soon. How many miles did you SRT have on it? over time it will sag on you so that is good.

The front didn't lower as much, because your engine isn't as heavy. You could always take them out and cut some of a coil off.

Um you can't do that to much though because they are load leveling shocks so how about some Lead bricks in your front end.

I don't know about the mileage on the springs. I got them from another forum member. Keep in mind that I just have the SRT springs...I am still running the stock SE shocks. I was thinking after the fact that I should have tried to get some RT shocks at least. But I am still pleased with the results.

Hmm I wonder if the shocks would help any?

See I am looking for a lowing of only 1" to 1/2" because of MN roads suck until I get a air ride installed

The shocks wouldn't make any difference to the ride height. Shocks just dampen the springs (stop them from springing). I am curious to see the stance of this car with the SRT springs. Definitely the lighter engine is why the front is a bit higher. When you eventually get your camera cable could you please post pics? Or perhaps someone else could take the pic

Yeah the front does sit a little high so when I go do my setup I will have them cut a coil off the front springs to make it sit a little lower.

What size rims are you running?

    Looking good Beans hopefully.

I am running 20's right now with the Toyo proxys. I dont think that I will change it until I put the Magnum lip on it.

How do you measure how much of the coil to cut off? Sean said that the actual SRT spring was shorter than the original SE.

Depends on how you want to cut it. Really

The back end looks awesome and then front just sits a tad to high. Heck if you cut off like 3-4" of the spring it would sit better I bet!
