    Dual Exhaust question...

    Hi All..

    I have a 06 2.7L 6er.

I just had a Flowmaster Super 40 installed yesterday. SOUNDS GREAT!!I also had the resonator removed and a chrome 2.5" tip installed. I was interested in getting dual exhaust from the muffler back, but the mechanic said there wasnt enough room to run a second pipe under and across to the exhaust cutout on the bumper. He said its hang too low under the differential.

Ive heard about some exhaust systems being installed with a Y at the muffler and am interested in how this was done. Pics? descriptions?? Someone on the other forum mentioned a "BLastin Bob Y" ??

    Any help greatly appreciated!!

That was me that replied to your thread on the other sight. Blastin' is a vendor on this sight and you can find his email on this forum. There is also a thread on the subject. I didn't want to mention that he was a vendor on the other sight. They might bill him....lol....

And tell the mechanic he doesn't know what he's doing. If you want to go with a true dual set-up check out Exhaustdepot.com

i know if you run TRUE duals from the Y after the cats, theres tons of room. I discussed that with the mechanic and I decided I didnt wanna spend that much $$ right now. I was wanting to put a flowmaster in place of the stock muffler and run two pipes outta that to the two exhaust cutouts in the bumper.

There are many ways to go about inexpensive true duals. I had my muffler guys just cut the pipes at the cats, and experiment with different mufflers till I found the ones with the sound I wanted. I tried flows and borlas, and I went with the borlas. They were well under these prefabricated systems, and less than the bb-ypipe.

I don't think blastin's are super loud. The flows are way to loud, they literally rattle the skull. Borlas and magnaflows are very similar. They give a deep, low roar. The exhaust depot uses resonators instead of mufflers. A lot of people love them, but they are a little loud for me.

That sounded really good. I wouldn't have known it was the 2.7L. I have a 3.5, but that single pipe sounds pretty good!
