    Double ouch...

With gas prices going through the roof and talk of it hitting $4 a gallon, I'm glad I didn't buy the PCM chip, Jet chip, nor anything else that would take premium gas. It's bad enough that it costs me an arm and a leg to drive @ $3.27 a gallon (the cheapest I can find today)... I get 25+ highway and 22+ combo city/highway driving on plain no lead, with my Zoomers and Airaid cai.

I bet, this is the time all you 2.7L ownwers are happy you bought what you did!

For the Hemi folks, here's a mod: The radiator cap exchange...

And did you ever wonder, what Exxon CEO's pay for gas?

"Exxon reports profits of $9.28 billion, up from $8.4 billion last year, with a 50 percent jump in refining profits as worldwide gasoline rises."

No offense to the poster of this message but I am so sick of people bich'en about the cost of gas. There is nothing we can do about it besides walk or ride our bikes. If we want to drive, all we can do is bend over and take it. I have a 5.7L and I get avg 18mph with NO highway driving. On a side note, did you know that the gas prices are high because of the refineries and not because of the cost of oil. As of today, the oil prices are rather low. Ok, sorry to rant.

    The End.

Funny, too, how people complain about the oil company profits...but the fact is that the amount of tax in a gallon of gas exceeds the amount of profit for the oil companies. Whenever you see HUGE profit numbers posted by any given oil company, just know that the government made even MORE than that.

And then people want that same government to investigate the oil companies for gouging!

sorry...im a complainer. the price of gas is utter bull****. i dont care what the government makes...they tax it like they tax everything...to pay for their jobs. if our cars ran on loaves of bread they might cost 10 bucks a loaf instead of 3. if it keeps the gov running then so be it...but if all of a sudden wonderbread is showing the highest profits ever in history....then screw them too.

as for regulating and investigating oil companys, i agree your hard pressed to get this administration to do anything. maybe the next one will be better.

whats the problem? greed is the problem. greed by the oil companys, greed by the ceo's, greed by local and federal govt. what they dont realize is that we dont have endless supplys of money. eventually it will catch up to them and the people they rely on to feed their greed wont be able to do so and then where will they be? i probably wont live to see it, but i would love to see them hurt just a bit more...

I'm going to disagree with you on this one.
The original poster of this thread stated that he bought gas at $3.27 a gallon.

Canadians are known as one of the most apathetic groups on the planet. We just sit back and let the oil companies and the governments stick it to us, and never complain in any way that does any good.
The result of this apathetic attitude is that today we are paying $1.08 per liter for gas. Since there are 4 liters in an American gallon, that equals $4.32 per gallon, and the prediction is that it will go much higher before the summer ends.

So, my American friends, keep bitching aabout your gas prices. Once you stop complaining, it will get worse.

The US still gets it cheaper than many other places in the WORLD. Take a gander at Europe if you want to feel better about your prices. Profits are up, yeah... they're corporations, that exist to make money. If your company stopped turning profit you'd be unemployed. That'd sure suck for you, wouldn't it. I think if we're going to spew exhaust into the air, we should have to pay to do it. And I love running WOT at every green light as much as the next guy. Pay to play, that's all.

I got 27.2 MPG on my last trip cruising 70+ MPH. Not bad considering.....

Gas is still cheap in the US, BUT the gas companies are still greedy posting record profits and then complaining about lack of refineries. Then take 10% of your yearly PROFIT, build all the refineries you want and put some people to work.

You dislike oil companies because they are a convenient target. You like being able to blame them for everything so you aren't ever going to let facts or reason get in your way. That's ok, though... I live in a glass house on other issues so I can't cast stones. But I think you should at least own up and be honest about the fact that you just have a bias against oil companies and nothing they do would ever change your mind about them.

Yep! Supply & demand has nothing to do with it. Nor does tax levels. It's all about who bitches and moans the most.

just a comment about the 2.7 liter. I traded in my original mag with the 2.7 for the rt. I truly believe that the 5.7 gets better mileage that the small engine. Underpowered for such a big car.
