Black gunk in my throttle body .

Was cleaning my K&N oem air filter when I noticed their was some black deposit in the throttle body flap , I opened the flap to find more of this black gunk in the throttle body , I want to know if anyone may know what this is from is this oil from my I&N and if this is can I open that big air passage on top of my engine and clean it out ?

More likely oil from your crank case vent hose. I'm not sure about cleaning it out but I know it's a pain to remove the plastic intake manifold if that's what you mean. You can use Mopar combustion chamber cleaner to clean it all out. Check out this thread, especially Fnkychkn's instructions.

if you just want to clean the throttle body, use a clean rag and wipe it off.
Izzy pics money talks. unfortunately, mine usually says... "good bye!"

I use Seafoam Deepcreep, and The Original Seafoam liquid stuff. Warm engine, shut off, open blades wide, spray and soak, wipe off, and start engine. Simple aerisol can.

But yes, just wipe it off, carbon build up.

    Black build up

I had an issue where my Magnum would "bog" down during acceleration when the engine was cold. It continually got worse until I had to take it in for service. The service guy at the dealer said there was a large amount of carbon build up in the throttle body. He said this carbon build up was causing the hesitation. He also said it was a common issue. Just FYI.

The 3.5 is a high output engine. If you don't drive it hard it will carbon up. Don't be afraid to get the RPM's up in the 4000 or 5000 range regularly. This alone will make your engine run much better.
