    Question 5.7 duals on SXT

If I would install a dual exhaust taken off of a 5.7L on my 3.5L SXT would it just be a "bolt-up" operation? I know I would need to add the heat shield on the right side. Are the pipes the same diameter? The resonators look the same. Any advice would be appreciated.

From what I hear, it shouldn't be a problem. The pipe is still 2.5" on the SXT and the RT, so I dont think you would have any problems. Your best bet is to talk a walk to the next room and ask the RT guys, mainly because I may just be talking out of my a$$.

You will have to notch the rear bumper cover. I have a complete RT exhaustin my garage. If you need any measurments let me know.

I installed the duals from my R/T on my wife's SXT. You need 2 hanger brackets and 2 rubber hangers. The R/T pipes are 2.5" ID and the SXT headers are 2.25" OD so you need to make some sort of reducers. I used short sections of the SXT pipe and ground off the clamps. Then slotted and slipped over pieces of 2.5" OD stainless tubing. Slipped everything together and tightened the clamps. You'll need to mirror the cutout in the rear bumper. I made a template and just used used a box knife.
